How long do therapy sessions typically last?
Individual therapy typically last 50 minutes otherwise specified during your first session.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your appointment time is reserved for you. If you need to cancel your appointment, it is important that you call to cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled session. Missed appointments that are not canceled or rescheduled 24 hours prior to your scheduled session will be billed to you.
Do you take insurance?
No, I do not take insurance at this time. However, superbills are provided through the online current client portal.
How can I pay for my sessions?
You can pay for your session using cash, credit card or check. Payment is due at the time of your session.
How early do I need to arrive prior to my appointment time?
It is recommended that you arrive five minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time so that your session begins on time. Arriving late to your session will cut into your 50 minute allotted session time.
What is Mindfulness?
“Mindfulness mean paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.” -Jon Kabat-Zinn
According to the University of Southern California Mindfulness Center (2017), to be mindful is to be awake, open and kind.
Awake: To know what is happening right now in the changing flow of experience
Open: Receptive and nonjudgemental to what is happening right now
Kind: To respond with self-compassion to whatever arises
What is Hypnosis?
The American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (2018) defines hypnosis as a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention. In other words, hypnosis is a state in which a person focuses their attention on a particular experience of their choosing.
What is Hypnosis Assisted Birth?
Hypnosis assisted birth is a term used to describe a birth in which a mother utilizes techniques such as self-hypnosis and targeted relaxation during her birth experience. Hypnosis can help women feel physically, mentally and spiritually prepared to give birth and reduce their awareness of fear, anxiety and pain during childbirth.
